A major fire broke out in a house on the Holakkers in Valthe tonight. In addition, two people were injured by breathing in smoke.
One of them was rushed to the hospital, reports a spokesperson for the Drenthe Security Region.
The fire brigade received the report around 5.18 pm and shortly thereafter scored to ‘Middelbrand’. Two fire -fighting vehicles and several water cars rushed to Valthe. Police and ambulance also arrived. From the area, large black clouds of smoke were quickly seen.
On arrival, a home was completely on fire. Firefighters immediately started extinguishing to prevent the fire from spreading further. Yet an adjacent house was also damaged by the fire.
How the fire could arise is still unclear.
