This morning there was a collision between two cars on the N33 between Gieterveen and Bareveld. One of the cars flipped over. The two occupants were injured and taken to hospital, police said.
As far as is known, the other motorist involved escaped unscathed.
The car that flipped over is pretty much in the creases. According to bystanders, the other vehicle sustained ‘slight’ damage.
The N33 near Gieterveen was closed in the direction of Veendam. This caused a traffic jam of several kilometers, but the road has now been fully reopened.
