Melvin Platje feels like a fish in water at AFC. The 33-year-old former striker of FC Volendam and Telstar again scored two goals. It led to a draw against TEC: 2-2.
Platje is in a good flow and already opened the score for AFC after four minutes. Hereafter, the hosts had three chances to equalize. It was Marciano Mengerink who tied the score for TEC just before half time. In the second half, Bo van Essen even gave the team from Tiel the lead: 2-1.
Goal scorer Mengerink was close to his second, but his effort was just turned around by goalkeeper Gijs van Zetten. That save turned out to be important, as Platje scored his second and the tying run moments later. Raily Ignacio and Adham el Idrissi could have scored afterwards, but it remained 2-2.
Due to the draw, AFC is in seventh place after three matches. Next Wednesday, champion Katwijk will visit Sportpark Goed Enough.
