Two farmers arrested during demonstration in Antwerp | Antwerp

According to police spokesperson Wouter Bruyns, the man who set the tires on fire did not want to identify himself. A second demonstrator wanted to prevent identification by using his tractor. A little further along their route, the two farmers were stopped by the police and arrested administratively. The police will draw up the necessary official reports for, among other things, the deliberate arson. A number of farmers had covered up the number plate of the tractor, for which they will also receive an official report.

The Antwerp police was also very satisfied with the cooperation with the organization Farmers Defense Force. “We emphasize that we are delighted with the course of the demonstration, the cooperation with the organizers and the participants. We regret what happened at the end, precisely because of the flawless cooperation with the organizers. We assume that what happened in the end were individual initiatives,” says Wouter Bruyns.
