Early in the morning the news came that Ecelsior – ADO Den Haag would not take place. “Despite the fact that we as a club do everything we can to prevent infections, adhere to the guidelines and apply a strict testing policy, several players and staff members have tested positive in recent days,” said Excelsior. “Because too large a group of players as a result of infections, injuries and suspensions cannot play, it was decided after consultation between our club doctor and the national doctor of the KNVB to postpone the match.”
The KNVB is looking for new dates for the two canceled games on Sunday. The North Holland duel between leader FC Volendam and Telstar (2-1) could continue. The De Graafschap – VVV-Venlo match starts in Doetinchem at 4.45 pm.
The second half of the Eredivisie starts on Friday. Many clubs have (had) to deal with a corona outbreak. Some clubs decided to forgo a training camp to avoid risks or to return early from abroad due to infections within the selection.
