Police strike against organized drug crime in the capital: When the investigators were already at the door, the dealers threw their drug packages out the window.
On Monday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., investigators gained access to an apartment on the fourth floor on the corner of Eisenacher Straße and Freisinger Straße in Schöneberg. The special operations command (SEK) was also on site. According to witness statements, the elite police officers were not used.
When police stormed the apartment, the two dealers are said to have thrown their drug supply, which was wrapped in aluminum foil, out of the window onto the sidewalk, according to BZ information.
An investigator on the BZ: “Rarely stupid. They threw the evidence right at our feet. The prosecutor will be happy.”
Two suspects were eventually overpowered, temporarily arrested and led out of the building in handcuffs. The suspected drug traffickers were brought in to verify their identities. It is not yet known whether they have now been released.
By the evening, forensic experts had secured traces in the apartment. They also collected the two packets of drugs and took them to a laboratory for further testing. It is currently unknown whether additional drugs were seized.
When asked by the BZ, the Berlin police initially did not want to comment on the details of the access because the investigation was still ongoing and only confirmed “an operation”. The search for possible people behind the crime is in full swing.
