Two people were killed in Weiteveen this morning. The police have made one arrest. The suspect is a 50-year-old man from Klazienaveen.
The incident happened on Bargerweg. Police said shots were fired during the incident. The police forensics department is conducting further investigation.
The police received a report around 8:45 a.m. that a car had crashed into a tree. It soon became apparent that there was more going on. One of the victims was found in the car. The other victim was in a home.
The incident appears to have been preceded by a long-running conflict. The police could not say anything further about this yet.
