Right in the heart of Malmö, Södra Tullgatan has two large Yle advertisements. Both ads feature Finland’s Eurovision representative from last spring Wrapper picture and English texts.

“Welcome to Tampere” reads another ad. The advertisement on the other side of the street reads “The wannabe Eurovision 2024 host city”.

Several Iltalehti readers living in Malmö have seen the ads today, Monday, on Södra Tullgatan.

– Just today I admired them! It’s fun, Anastasia, who lives in Malmö, tells Iltalehte.

The street in question is a busy pedestrian street, and there have been large advertisements at the ends of the houses in the past, like the glass corner of the Helsinki Forum.

There are also several Vios fans shared photos on X from confusing ads.

Yle does not comment on advertisements.

Eurovision will be held in Malmö next spring, when Sweden’s Loreen won the Liverpool Eurovision Song Contest last spring.

Finland and Käärijä finished second.

The wrapper won the public votes, but not the council votes, so won the council votes and did well in the public votes Loreen took the whole pot.

Many felt it was wrong that the audience’s favorite did not win. With the second place, there was a discussion about the raade again. For example, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation has proposed that the weighting of council votes be changed. Now the weight of both the jury’s and the audience’s votes is 50 percent.

Before the final, it was considered possible that Käärijä could win the Eurovision Song Contest. Then we thought about what would be the best place to organize the visas, and Nokia Arena in Tampere was considered one of the strongest options.

The Nokia Arena can hold around 15,000 spectators, and several big events have been organized there, such as the World Ice Hockey Championships and concerts by Queen and Iron Maiden.

The wrapper shared his feelings immediately after the results were known.
