The accident happened around 10 am, at the intersection of Potteriestraat and Geluwestraat. Two cars collide after one of the drivers failed to respect the priority rules. In one car is a couple from Roeselare: a 41-year-old man and a 36-year-old heavily pregnant woman. They were both slightly injured. In the other car was a 24-year-old man from Zonnebeke. He was unharmed.
The two cars crashed into a chapel during the accident. It suffered heavy damage. The fire brigade arrived on site to shore up the building.
