The burglars’ vehicle, a white Skoda, was chased by the highway police from the Ruddervoorde exit of the E403. The car left the road at the intersection of the N50 with the Varentakker in Zwevezele. The police were immediately able to arrest one suspect. The loot from a burglary earlier in the evening in Torhout was found in the vehicle.
With reinforcement from the Tielt, Kouter, Het Houtsche Police Zone and a sniffer dog handler from the Federal Police, a second suspect could be arrested.
The perpetrators are two men aged 27 and 24. They were arrested today by the investigating judge. The police are now investigating which burglaries they are still eligible for.
