Two brothers dead, including a child, in an accident with fireworks in France

Two brothers, one of them a minor, died and seven other people were injured on the night of Thursday to Friday due to an accident in the French town of Cholet with the fireworks that marked the end of the National Holiday celebrations.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the fatalities they are a 7-year-old boy and his 24-year-old sister, to which we must add seven wounded, one of them very serious.

The mayor of Cholet, Gilles Bourdouleixindicated, in statements to the France Info radio station, that a rocket exploded in the middle of the people who were in a space near the popular dance that had been organized next to a stadium.

“The people in charge of security -according to what they have told me- asked the people who were in that place to move away, although a priori there was no danger as such,” explained the mayor, who emphasized that the organization of Fireworks was run by “a serious company” and with experience.

Prosecutor Eric Bouillard announced that an investigation has been opened for involuntary manslaughter in which it will be necessary to determine, among other things, whether the affected persons should have been prevented from being there.
