Two bicycle thieves arrested for multiple thefts | 1Limburg

The police have arrested two boys on suspicion of stealing several bicycles. It concerns a 17-year-old from Venlo and a 19-year-old from Blerick.

The Venlo-Beesel police announced this on their social media on Tuesday. The boys were arrested last month.

In the first months of 2022, 160 bicycles were stolen in that region. Much of it was electric. In March, the police launched an investigation.

Already sold
The 17-year-old suspect was riding a stolen bicycle when he was arrested. No other bicycles were found in his home. Presumably they were resold after the theft.

On the run
The 19-year-old boy ran off when he noticed that the officers wanted to speak to him. Both suspects are still in custody. They are suspected of involvement in at least 15 thefts.

One of the boys first has to serve a sentence and then has to answer to the judge.
