Two anti-bullfighting activists, attacked in a Madrid bullring during a protest

The events occurred on May 2. At the end of a bullfight in the Anchuelo bullring (Madrid) a couple of anti-bullfighting activists International Vegan Strike Group they burst into the arena with posters protesting against animal torture.

In a matter of seconds both They were tackled and taken out of the ring first by the bullfighters themselves and then by the public who enjoyed the show.

While kicks and blows rained down on the man, the woman, also beaten, was thrown to the ground and dragged violently by an individual through the arena of the square towards one of the burladeros, before the arrival of members of the Civil Guard who protected her and took her out of the ring with different manners.

According to Cadena Ser, the corpulent man who dragged the activist would be a candidate of the Popular Party in Los Santos de la HumosaRodrigo Peñalver Montero, number 2 on the PP list, while another candidate from the same party, Javier López Escanella, was also implicated in the events, always according to the aforementioned station.

Vegan Strike Group has published on its social networks the video in which the facts are collected. The publication also indicates that the activists attacked are the founders of the organization, the Belgian Christina and the German Peter Jansen.

According to Vegan Strike Group, before this action they would have already intervened in “66 bloody and abusive bullfighting shows. Most of the actions took place in Spain, but in recent years there have also been in Portugal, Mexico and the south of France”.
