Twitter could face fines and other sanctions if it fails to comply with EU law. That is what EU Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton said today. “It is absolutely clear that if Twitter does not comply with these rules, we can impose fines. And if the violations of the rules continue, we can close the platform in Europe,” Breton told the newspapers of the German Funke Media Group and the French newspaper Ouest France.
