Rrrrrrrums, the reading barrier on Twitter rattled down! The short message service has limited the number of tweets users can read in a day. Temporarily, assures Elon Musk.
Verified accounts are allowed to see up to 6000 posts per day, unverified users only 600. And with new unverified accounts it is only 300 posts per day.
The eccentric billionaire justifies the measure as follows: The reading restriction was introduced to curb the “extreme extent” of data misuse.
Elon Musk and Twitter – a story full of excitement.
The tech multinational took over the company at the end of October 2022. For around 44 billion US dollars. Since then, things have gotten bitter on Twitter.
As soon as the 52-year-old was in charge, Musk started to cut staff. First he shaved off the management team, then it was the employees’ collars: Of the former 7,500 employees, only fewer than 2,000 are left. The tough boss demands that they hump “extremely hardcore”.
Gradually lit Elon Musk more escalation missiles. So he closed numerous offices, employees stood dumbfounded in front of closed doors. At another point, he asked his employees to bring their own toilet paper.
Another ugly highlight in March of this year: Musk publicly dissed a person with a disability. Speaking of ex-Twitter director Haraldur Thorleifsson, the billionaire claimed he “didn’t do any real work and used the excuse that he had a disability that prevented him from typing”.
The end of the song: Elon Musk, whom activists have accused of being a swindler, had to backtrack, speaking of a “misunderstanding”. Haraldur Thorleifsson has since left Twitter and is building wheelchair ramps in Iceland.
