Twitter went to court on Tuesday to oblige Elon Musk to acquire the company for $44 billion (more than 43 billion euros). The billionaire announced on Friday that he was waiving the takeover, which had been agreed in April.

Musk said he is pulling out because Twitter did not respond to requests for information about fake or spam accounts on the platform. The two sides prepare for a tough legal battle.

Twitter chairman Bret Taylor tweeted Tuesday that the board has filed a lawsuit in the Delaware Court of Chancery “to hold Elon Musk accountable for his contractual obligations.”

The court in Delaware often handles business disputes between the many companies based there, like Twitter.
