Lionsgate Television is reportedly in early development for a series based on the Twilight book series. Author Stephenie Meyer is also involved in the project.
How “The Hollywood Reporters‘ on April 19, as with the films in the ‘Twilight’ saga, Wick Godfrey is on board as a producer. “Step Up” producer Erik Feig is also involved in the project. Sinead Daly is writing the screenplay. In which role the creator of the vampire youth books Meyer will be involved is not yet known.
The five-part film adaptation of the four books was released between 2008 and 2012 and grossed almost three and a half billion US dollars. The books would also be similarly successful and have sold over 120 million copies worldwide.
After the various “Star Wars” series, the “Harry Potter” series announced by HBO and Amazon’s billion-dollar project “The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power”, a “Twilight” series seems logical. In the coming weeks and months, further and above all concrete information will follow. An official confirmation from the company is still pending.
