Twenty cows fell through a stall grid this morning at a livestock farm on the Veldweg in Peest. After their fall, the animals ended up in a dung pit.
Most of the cows could be raised by the farmer himself. The fire brigade came to the rescue to get the last five animals out of the cellar, the Drenthe Safety Region reports.
One cow did not survive the fall.
