During the descent, the aircraft was said to have encountered severe weather conditions, causing the aircraft to be shaken over the extreme east of India.
The SpiceJet Boeing B737 landed safely at Durgapur airport, where medical personnel attended to the injured. Injured persons were said to have been taken to hospital.
Bad weather has disrupted air traffic around Durgapur, SpiceJet reports.
