Twan Huys visited Geert Wilders’ office to ask him for his College Tour program. The presenter has received a commitment from the PVV leader.
A lot of politicians have been guests on College Tour, but Geert Wilders has never been questioned in Twan Huys’ program. If it were up to the NPO star, this would change, because he would like to have the PVV leader in his interview chair. But does the politician want that?
At Wilders’ office
Most of the party leaders of the largest parties have already been to the College tour, but not Wilders. Was he never invited? Yes, says Twan in the Television. “In fact, when I came up with the College tour fifteen years ago, I even went to his office in The Hague to ask him if he wanted to be my very first guest.”
What did the politician say then? “Then Wilders said: ‘I’m participating, but I don’t know when yet.’ I asked him a few more times after that, but in the end he never did it.”
Dilan visits
Twan has VVD leader Dilan Yesilgöz in his program this weekend. Doesn’t that just make him suitable for her campaign? “It is evident that Yesilgöz tries to win as many votes as possible during campaign time. That is also necessary. That is the job of a party leader.”
He continues: “But as program makers, we decide – together with the students in the room – which themes we find interesting to talk about. So it doesn’t matter to me whether a guest from College Tour is on the campaign trail or not.”
