2022 is once again the year of the Toten Hosen. No wonder, the Düsseldorf punk veterans are finally celebrating their 40th band anniversary. There is not only enough anniversary program from the Hosen themselves (new Best-of, new “Wort zum Sonntag”, tour) – the German TV landscape is also paying tribute to Campino & Co. extensively these days. For example with the program “Rockpalast Backstage: Die Toten Hosen”.

For this, presenter Ingo Schmoll visited the band in the Principal Studios near Münster — a studio co-owned by Vincent Sorg, who produced the record “Ballast der Republik” with the Hosen, among other things. In 2019, the Düsseldorfers were right there again – this time to prepare for their acoustic tour (listen to the live album “Alles ohne Strom”).

In this intimate setting, Schmoll talks primarily to Campino — about the life and work of the band, but also about private matters. So if you want to know what the 59-year-old thinks about the social explosive power of music, what he says about the eternal sell-out allegations against the band and what else he has to say, you should definitely tune in.

WDR broadcasts “Rockpalast BACKSTAGE: Die Toten Hosen” on April 14, 2022 at 1:30 a.m.
