To mark the 40th anniversary of the “Supernasen” cult films by Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger, the program “40 Years of Supernasen – with Mike Krüger & Thomas Gottschalk” will be broadcast on RTL next Saturday (20 August). The show starts at 8:15 p.m. and is moderated by Laura Wontorra.
The anniversary program was recorded on August 16th in the Admiralspalast in Berlin. According to RTL, viewers can expect a “big party with live music from the eighties, funny gags and activities like ‘The Super Nose Quiz’ or ‘Sayings Bingo'”. Immediately afterwards, at 11 p.m., the documentary “My Papa, the Supernose!” will be broadcast – a film about the perception of the “Supernose” films from the point of view of Gottschalk’s son Roman.
The duo will continue at midnight: Gottschalk and Krüger will then be on RTL radio with their show “Pirate Station Powerplay V2.0 – With Mike & Thommy”. If you prefer to watch the show rather than listen to it, you can do so: the program will also be broadcast on television.
A 40-year success story
The first “Supernasen” film reached the screens in German cinemas more than 40 years ago. With “Pirate Station Powerplay” (1982) Gottschalk and Krüger started a cinematic success story. Her next works followed at short intervals: “Die Supernasen” (1983), “Zwei Nasentanken Super” (1984) and “Die Einsteiger” (1985). The films were always accompanied by prominent guest appearances – including Evelyn Hamann, Katja Flint, Dagmar Berghoff, Anja Kruse and Udo Kier.
“You know from the super noses that Mike was the esthete and I was the beautiful one – we’ve stuck to that to this day, which you can and should see for yourself personally at the big night of the ‘super noses’ on RTL,” says Thomas Gottschalk in a statement . His friend and colleague Krüger adds jokingly: “On August 20th we are celebrating ’40 years of Supernasen’, meaning 40 years of subtlety, enjoyment of art and the wild freedom of the 80s. A time without genders, tinders or influencers – instead with blenders, weirdos and influenza”.
