Mart Hoogkamer goes on a musical winter sports holiday in Val Thorens in his own television show Mart op de Piste with friends such as Wesley Sneijder. The premiere episode last week got stuck at an extremely disappointing 196,000 viewers (4 percent market share) on NPO 3.

Viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp, who has been at the helm of SBS 6 for years, saw many changes in the second episode yesterday. “Mart op de Piste has undergone a major adjustment. Voice-over has been added that explains, therefore better story building. Much quieter assembly, which makes it a bit easier to follow. A little more conversations, a little less steps.”

The low level of the conversations is still the same, according to Tina. “It doesn’t go any further than: ‘Hey cock, cock, nice man’. That’s about it. Is it a good program? No. Has it gotten any better with these changes? That’s for sure.”

Low score

The viewing figures remain low with this time 240,000 viewers (5 percent). “Mart op de Piste is not yet a hit. To put it mildly. It scored slightly higher than last week.”

A spot in the top 25 ratings was far out of sight for Mart. This required at least 371 thousand viewers. So many people watched it last Shownieuws.

Eyeballs wins

The big winner in prime time was Oogappels with 1.2 million viewers (23 percent) on NPO 1, followed by Today Inside with 938 thousand viewers (22 percent) on SBS 6 and Het Perfecte Plaatje with 935 thousand viewers (19 percent) on RTL 4.

The setback of the evening? De Bevers with 279 thousand viewers (6 percent) on RTL 5. The scores are also low in the commercial target group, says Tina. “It scores very old. That does not go well with the linear figures. Perhaps too few storylines in the series? And therefore too boring?”
