NOS, SBS 6, RTL 4 and Good morning Netherlands. Her photos keep popping up in the various weather bulletins. Snapshots of beautiful tulip fields or brilliant skies are served to millions of television viewers together. “I send them in and if you’re lucky, your photo will be selected. I send in a lot of photos, especially during the tulip season. That’s the best time of the year for me.”

Nothing needed

Natasja has been photographing fanatically for about ten years now. She can be found in nature almost every day, mainly in West Friesland. “When I walk outside, I relax. I can lose everything in photography. It gives me energy, I love nature and the landscape. In nature I don’t need anything except my camera. Then you can tell me letting go for hours.”

She has a keen eye for it. She is also sharp during a round in the Koopmanspolder in Wervershoof. She recognizes all the birds and knows where they are. “I see a lot. When I walk somewhere, or I talk to you, for example, I see how the lines run. I love lines. While driving I have to watch out that I keep an eye on the road. And if I do something beautiful, I regret not having the camera with me.”

In everyday life she is in front of the class, but every free hour she can be found outside. Her beloved West Friesland is largely her working area. And that remains the case. “It is precisely because you often return to the same places that you know where to go.” It doesn’t get bored. Every time the light or the sky is different. Even if I’m in the same tulip field for the tenth time, I’ll still come home with new photos.”
