Hardly anyone is talking about it, but the biggest drama on Dutch television is currently taking place on the eve of NPO 1: Nadia Moussaid puts down staggeringly low numbers there.
Nadia Moussaid has been scoring so badly in the eve of NPO 1 for weeks now that it is no longer news. It seems as if it has also become a bit pointless to criticize the programming of this channel: after all, boss Remco van Westerloo recently even defended the absolute TV monster Olcay & Ruud.
Massive numbers
It seems that Remco and his mates are on some kind of kamikaze mission with NPO 1. The eve of the channel was once gold-rimmed thanks to the gigantic success of Matthijs van Nieuwkerk and his De Wereld Draait Door, but the seven o’clock slot has really lost all shine. The current talk show Nadia is also an unmitigated disaster.
Nadia set a new low yesterday with only 222 thousand viewers (8 percent market share). EenVandaag scored three times as well before, namely 635 thousand viewers (28 percent), and the Achuurjournaal afterwards six times as well: 1.3 million viewers (35 percent). Does NPO 1 have so much paint on the viewer that it just stays on the tube?
End of TV career
It is just embarrassing how the viewer is allowed to watch every day as Nadia takes a step closer to the exit of the Media Park. “These are figures that are rarely if ever shown on NPO 1”, writes viewing figure connoisseur Joost Maiburg of RTL Boulevard. “The market share in the commercial target group is also only 3.9 percent.”
Tina Nykamp says about it: “For Nadia and the makers, it’s really a ratings disaster. NPO 1 has never scored lower than this at 7 p.m. Unfortunately, the viewer really does not want this format. Hopefully a new format/talk show for Nadia soon. Wouldn’t a program with more topicality also suit her better?
Or better: just chatting with friends and family at her kitchen table, without a camera.
Jinek scores again
Eva Jinek sees her TV career flourish again now that the men of Today Inside are on vacation. “Jinek is the big talk show winner of the day with 701 thousand viewers, with a particularly mega score in the target group: 25.9 percent. And so this also says enough that Jinek/Humberto/Beau/Renze really better start at 10.30 p.m. from the autumn.”
Tina concludes: “There appears to be a huge overlap in the viewers of Today Inside and Jinek. Since VI stopped, Jinek scores as usual. 25.9 percent is really very high.”
