Türkiye is officially a candidate for EURO 2028 and 2032! – Breaking Football news



Minister Kasapoğlu signed the candidacy file to organize Turkey’s European Football Championship in 2028 and 2032 and sent it to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). The candidacy file will be submitted to UEFA by the TFF on April 12, 2023.


In the file, there are many detailed information, especially the stadiums where the organization will be held in Turkey, accommodation, transportation and city infrastructures. UEFA will announce the countries that will host the European Football Championships in 2028 and 2032 in October of this year.

Making an evaluation about Turkey’s candidacy application, Minister Kasapoğlu emphasized that Turkey is a country of sports. Expressing that Turkey, a member of UEFA since 1962, has made significant contributions to European football and its management, he also reminded that Turkey will host the 2023 Champions League Final this year.


Minister Kasapoğlu stated that Turkey has made significant progress in sports facilities infrastructure and sports legislation in the last 20 years, and that they have successfully hosted large sports organizations as a country.


Minister Kasapoğlu said, “Our country trains athletes who are at the top of the world in many branches by combining their breakthroughs at the facility with scientific methods.” Our facility quality, our transportation and accommodation infrastructure, our young population, and our spectator potential, when you combine them all, our country shines like a star as one of the most important sports destinations in the world. I think it will add a very important value to Euro 2028 and Euro 2032, which are the most important events of the year,” he said.


OTHER CANDIDATE COUNTRIES


Except for Turkey, which bids UEFA for the 2028 and 2032 championships; The football associations of England, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales submitted their candidacy for 2028 and Italy for 2032.
