Turkey’s main opposition party chooses new leader after election loss

Turkey’s main opposition party has dismissed its leader Kemal Kiliçdaroglu and replaced him with Özgür Özel, a former pharmacist without much political experience. Kiliçdaroglu failed to dethrone Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in May’s presidential elections and his Republican People’s Party (CHP) has since been internally divided.
