Around 1,900 fans march to the Olympic Stadium for the international football match between Germany and Turkey. Although the atmosphere is peaceful, the police have to stop the train again and again.
On Saturday evening there will be a friendly soccer match between Germany and Turkey in the Olympic Stadium (kick-off: 8:45 p.m.).
In the late afternoon, several groups set off for a fan march from Theodor-Heuss-Platz (Westend) to the stadium.
According to the police, it is a balanced fan structure. The officials initially did not expect any riots.
Our reporters report that the Turkey supporters are very loud but peaceful. At 6 p.m., seven people were stopped by the police. The train is repeatedly stopped because of the use of pyrotechnics. Police statements are met with boos.
Shortly after 7 p.m., the fan march reached the Olympic site peacefully without any further incident.
The Berlin police have been supported by several other federal states and the federal police.
