Turkey became the biggest woman in Europe for the first time in the history of the Republic



Turkey, which came second in Greco-Roman men’s Europe at the U23 European Wrestling Championship held in the city of Plovdiv, also achieved very successful results in women’s freestyle. Ahiska Türkü Elvira Kamaloğlu, athlete of Erzincan Üzümlü Sports Club, became the second European champion in 57 kg to bring gold medal to Turkey after Greco-Roman men. While Aslı Demir won the silver medal in U23 women, Rahime Arı, Zeynep Yetgil, Yağmur Çakmak and Mehtap Gültekin also made us proud by winning the bronze medal on the way that carried Turkey to the top of Europe.


In the women’s freestyle championship, where athletes from 23 countries participated, Turkey became the European Champion for the first time in women by collecting 143 points, Hungary with 120 points and Poland with 118 points became the third place.
