Kardeşler tossed the coin “without the knowledge and consent” of the association and the referees’ association. The association “resolutely rejects the procedure”.
“Bitcoin or Ethereum” instead of “Heads or Tails”
Turkish media reports that the referee is said to have asked the Fenerbahce captain: “Bitcoin or Ethereum?” Ethereum refers to another cryptocurrency. The rules of the game only speak of a “toss of a coin” when choosing a seat. However, inconspicuousness is expected from referees. They often toss coins of two different colors. It is not yet known whether Kardeşler was joking or whether there was a commercial reason behind it.
