A National Women’s Volleyball Team lost 3-1 against China in the second match of the first week of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League.


The national team started the game with Zehra Güneş and Ebrar Karakurt’s dunks. Continuing to play effectively despite Captain Eda Erdem’s points, China entered the first technical time-out with a 12-5 lead. China, which defended well against Turkey, which had headline problems and could not be effective in their blocks, and ended their attacks very quickly, won the first set 25-16.


Starting the second set with a headline and block problem, the national team achieved the balance in the game for the first time with 7-7 equality. The crescent-star team entered the technical break 12-10 superior. Crescent-Stars, guided well by the setter Cansu Özbay and fired with the block, won the set 25-20 and equalized the score 1-1.

After the head coach Giovanni Guidetti assigned Sıla Çalışkan to replace the setter Cansu Özbay, the national team continued to make simple mistakes even though the game was balanced. China started the 4th set effectively, but they were effective with the crescent-stars, Ebrar Karakurt and Eda Erdem, and the score was equal at 9-9. The national team entered the technical time-out behind 12-9 as a result of simple mistakes. After Turkey’s block number with Ebrar Kurakurt, China took a timeout at 19-20. Giving only 3 points to Turkey after the time-out, China won the set 25-22 and the match 3-1.


The national team will face Bulgaria in the third match of the organization at 19.00 tomorrow.
