In the second match of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League play-off semi-finals series, Pınar Karşıyaka beat Türk Telekom 92-81 on the road, bringing the series to 1-1.
Starting the first period effectively, Pınar Karşıyaka scored 9 points in the first three minutes with Delgado and Angola. Responding to the guest team with 4 points with Rıdvan Öncel, Türk Telekom could not show the toughness it wanted in defense and the first 5 minutes of the fight was passed with Pınar Karşıyaka’s 12-6 superiority. Pınar Karşıyaka, who tried to reduce the gap with the numbers of Grant, Taylor and Erkan Yılmaz, did not allow Türk Telekom with the numbers from Delgado, Vitto Brown and Angola, and finished the first period ahead 22-17.
Starting the second quarter with solid defense, the guest team gave Türk Telekom only two points in the first four minutes. In this process, he increased the difference to 15 (19-34) with the numbers he found with Thomas Akyazılı, Deniz Kılıçlı, Delgado and Mc Collum. After this minute, Pınar Karşıyaka responded with Mc Collum, Delgado and Angola against Türk Telekom, which was trying to close the gap with the numbers of Sestina, Grant, Jones, Bouteille and Taylor, and entered the locker room with a 46-38 lead.
While both teams found mutual points in the third period, Pınar Karşıyaka scored 59-51 in the 25th minute of the game. After this minute, Türk Telekom made a tough defense against its opponent in the painted area and reduced the lead to 3 points (64-67) with the points of Taylor, Grant and Bouteille. The third period of the fight ended with Pınar Karşıyaka’s superiority 67-64.
Starting the final period well, Türk Telekom brought it to 72-72 in the 33rd minute with the points of Jones and Grant. After this minute, Pınar Karşıyaka increased the lead to 8 points (77-85) again with the points of Delgado, Vitto Brown and Jaylon Brown 2 minutes before the end of the game, won the contest 92-81 and brought the series to 1-1.
The third match of the fight will be played on Thursday, June 8, at Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Karşıyaka Hall.
On the other hand, MKE Ankaragücü Coach Tolunay Kafkas also watched the fight. Türk Telekom jersey was given as a gift to the Caucasus before the match.
