Surprise at Turbine Potsdam! On Friday, the fourth in the women’s soccer Bundesliga announced that it had reached an amicable agreement with coach Sofian Chahed on a separation.

The former Bundesliga professional from Hertha BSC and Hannover 96 only extended his contract in Potsdam until 2025 at the turn of the year. As the club announced, after extensive discussions, coaches and club leadership agreed to end the collaboration. More precise reasons that led to the separation are not known.

“Thank you for the trust and the successful two years together. I wish the club and the team continued success and happiness on and off the pitch!” Chahed is quoted as saying in a club statement.

The 39-year-old German-Tunisian was responsible for the turbine on the sidelines for two years, finished fourth in the championship twice and reached the DFB Cup final with his team this season, which 0:4 against double winner Wolfsburg was lost.
