Even with the new coach Marco Gebhardt, the six-time soccer champion Turbine Potsdam continues unabated towards the 2nd division.
Only a few hours after the presentation of the former professional, the bottom of the table in the women’s Bundesliga conceded a 1: 2 (0: 2) home defeat in the catch-up game against direct competitor Werder Bremen.
The former Champions League winners from Potsdam still only have one point on their account, Werder climbed after their second win of the season with ten points from penultimate to ninth place. Reena Wichmann (18th) and Lina Hausicke (39th) scored the goals for Bremen, Wibke Meister (60th) shortened.
Gebhardt was presented as the new coach in the afternoon. The 50-year-old, who was under contract with Energie Cottbus, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1860 Munich and Union Berlin, among others, should still manage to stay up in the league together with Dirk Heinrichs.
