Tuchel had wanted to draw up Arjen Robben at Bayern: ‘Guilt of the German federation’

Bayern Munich can take a huge step towards the German national title this weekend (and even become it on Sunday if Borussia Dortmund loses points), but trainer Thomas Tuchel would have liked to have had a special ‘guest player’ in the home game against RB Leipzig on Saturday. ‘…

Arjen Robben visited his old German club on Friday, where he played with great success for ten years. The reunion with some of his former teammates, including Thomas Müller, clearly did Robben good.

“I made an effort to let him play tomorrow,” Tuchel said with a laugh in his press conference. “And not Arjen is the problem, but the German federation is the problem. Arjen must be registered from them, but he is not on the list of players,” Tuchel said almost angrily. “But no, every Bayern player here can learn something from Arjen. He is an example to all.”

Robben won the Champions League with Bayern in 2013, in the final at Wembley he scored the winning goal (2-1) against Borussia Dortmund. He also became German national champion eight times and won the German Cup four times.
