Series winner TTC Berlin Eastside has once again successfully defended its title in the women’s table tennis Bundesliga. In the playoff final, the team around the European Championship runner-up Nina Mittelham handed the challenger TTC Weinheim a 5:5 after the 6:1 in the opening duel to win the ninth title in the past ten seasons.
As the fourth women’s team, Berlin also managed the feat of five championship titles in a row. After the record set by DSC Kaiserberg with eight championships between 1965 and 1972, Spvg Steinhagen from 1989 to 1994 and FSV Kroppach from 2008 to 2014 each won the DM trophy six times in a row.
