The Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas is the top seeded player at the ATP tennis tournament in Stuttgart.
After dropping out of the quarter-finals at the French Open in Paris, the fifth in the world rankings received a wild card for the turf event at Weissenhof from June 12 to 18, which is worth 795,730 euros, and will start as number one.
Also Zverev, Fritz and Kyrgios there
“The Weissenhof is a club with a lot of tradition and I’m looking forward to starting my preparation on grass here next week,” Tsitsipas said in a statement from the organizer on Thursday. Last year, the 25-year-old reached the quarter-finals on the Killesberg in Stuttgart.
In addition to the Australian Open finalist Tsitsipas, Olympic champion Alexander Zverev from Hamburg, world number eight Taylor Fritz from the USA, Australian Nick Kyrgios and last year’s Italian winner Matteo Berrettini reported for the preparatory event before the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon.
“We are very pleased that Stefanos Tsitsipas will be another top ten star at this year’s Boss Open. With last year’s tournament victory at the Mallorca Championships, he also proved his qualities on grass,” explained tournament director Edwin Weindorfer .
