Stefanos Tsitsipas is the sixth player in the Open Era to win the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 twice in a row after Nastase, Borg, Muster, Ferrero and of course Nadal. In that Country Club where mother Julija Salnikova, in 1981, won a junior tournament, a feat remembered by a plaque that greatly impressed little Tsitsi when for the first time, at the age of six, he set foot on these fields.
