TSG Hoffenheim: Injury prefers Nordtveit’s Bundesliga end

“Incredible team player” at TSG

The Norwegian defender Havard Nordtveit will no longer be able to play in the Bundesliga for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. This was confirmed by coach Sebastian Hoeneß after the 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. Nordtveit had to be replaced injured shortly before the end. “That’s tragic with Howie, I just have to say that,” said Hoeneß at the press conference.

“He probably sustained a serious structural injury in his hamstring. He’s an incredible team player who doesn’t deserve this departure.” Further investigations are to follow at the beginning of the week. The 31-year-old professional repeatedly announced in March that he would be leaving Hoffenheim at the end of the season and returning to his home country. Nordtveit played a total of 228 times (ten goals, ten assists) in the German top flight for the Kraichgauer and before that Borussia Mönchengladbach and 1. FC Nürnberg.
