Trump lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. When the results were ratified in the US parliament on January 6 last year, Trump supporters stormed the building. Several people were killed and more than 100 officers were injured. More than 700 people have now been charged for participating in the storming.
“Another thing that we will do — and so many people have asked me about this — if I run and win, is we will treat those people fairly on Jan. 6,” Trump said in Conroe, Texas. “We will treat them fairly. And if that requires pardon, we will pardon them. Because they are treated so unfairly.”
Trump is still very popular among Republican supporters, but has not yet said whether he will run again in the next presidential election.
