Trump Uses FBI Raid to Request Donations from Supporters | Abroad

“They are trying to stop the Republican Party and me again,” Trump wrote in one of the fundraising emails on Tuesday. “The lawlessness, political persecution and witch hunts must be exposed and stopped.”

The FBI raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach on Monday for a search. Agents were looking for documents that Trump would have taken with him when he left the White House, according to sources. That’s against the rules – all presidential communications must be archived. The Justice Department and the FBI have declined to comment on the search, which Trump announced Monday. The current head of the FBI, Christopher Wray, has been appointed by Trump himself.

After losing the 2020 election to Biden, Trump founded the political action committee (PAC) Save America, which already has more than $100 million in cash. Trump continues to publicly flirt with another bid for the presidency in 2024, but has not yet officially announced his candidacy.
