Trump gets a gag order again in civil fraud case | Abroad

The reason for the gag order was attacks by Trump on an important employee of Judge Arthur Engoron. Trump’s messages on his own social media network led to “hundreds of threats” against the court, according to Engoron.

Trump believes that his statements fall under freedom of expression and has therefore appealed against the ban. In anticipation of this, the gag order was suspended two weeks ago. But now it is back in force.

Trump was previously fined $15,000 (almost 14,000 euros) twice for violating the gag order. The sentence will increase for a subsequent violation, the judge warned.

The Republican has also been given a gag order in the lawsuit surrounding his attempts to influence the outcome of the presidential election.
