New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg has charged the former president with forgery of corporate records. This concerns the hush money he paid to two women, porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal. Trump, however, pleaded not guilty to all 34 charges.

To an audience largely made up of his inner circle and most fanatical supporters, Trump spoke of “election interference” by law enforcement from his Palm Beach residence. He would try to deny him a possible new term as president through the court. Next year, the Americans go to the polls, and Trump has run on behalf of the Republicans.

“Our legal system has become lawless,” Trump said. “We are a nation in decline. And now these radical left madmen (the Democrats) want to influence our elections with the help of judicial authorities. We cannot allow that.

Although the case is loose, according to Trump, he is concerned because he does not believe he will receive a fair trial in New York. He speaks of a political witch hunt by a prosecutor who is supported by the radical left. “The judge is a Trump hater,” he told his audience. Trump, who otherwise seemed calm, also complained about the state of affairs in the United States. “Our country is going to hell,” he said. He then mentioned issues such as immigration, inflation, and perceived crime in Democratic-controlled states.

He also accused President Biden of handling the situation regarding Ukraine completely wrong, referring to the closer relations between China and Russia. He even claimed that World War III was imminent, without providing any evidence. The half-hour speech was therefore more like a campaign rally than a speech about the content of the lawsuit against the former president.
