At least 7,200 police officers will be deployed in Paris this weekend to prevent a ‘freedom convoy’ of truck drivers from disrupting traffic. Measures are also being taken in Belgium to stop such protests against corona measures. The truckers’ protest was first organized in January around the Canadian capital Ottawa, and the phenomenon now seems to be spreading to Europe.
