The accident happened along the Moorseelsesteenweg. The truck, from recycling company Depoortere from Heule, veered off the road on the right for an unknown reason. There is a canal there, where the truck is in
tilted. A container filled with glass ended up in a field. The cargo was completely lost.
The driver was unable to get out of the truck on his own. The fire brigade had to cut away the windshield to evacuate the man. He was transferred to AZ Delta in Rumbeke for care. The Moorseelsesteenweg remained closed to all traffic for hours due to the accident.
