Truck full of peas drives off viaduct, causing major havoc on the road

A truck drove off a viaduct on the N69 near Dommelen on Tuesday morning. The driver lost control and eventually ended up on the N397. Miraculously, the man escaped unscathed and did not have to go to the hospital. The roads were therefore closed in both directions on Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around a quarter to five in the morning on the bridge near the Dommelsche beer brewery. The truck came from Belgium and transported peas. The driver probably lost control of his steering wheel due to the slippery conditions. He ended up on the other side of the road, crashed into the protected barrier and ended up on the N397.

The man escaped unscathed. He was taken by the police for an explanation. The truck is recovered by a recovery company.

The accident causes considerable damage on both roads. For example, the barrier on the N69 is broken and the N397 is littered with peas. The truck itself is also located there. It is currently being recovered.
