The 45-year-old driver is suspected of causing a traffic accident with fatal and serious physical injuries, the Public Prosecution Service reports. The drama killed six adults at a neighborhood party on Saturday evening, including a heavily pregnant woman, bringing the death toll to seven. Seven people, including children, were also injured.
The Spanish driver is being medically examined, his blood drawn to see if any medication has been taken and it is being checked that he had not telephoned or was otherwise distracted at the time of the accident.
Due to the ongoing investigation, the Public Prosecution Service is currently unable to provide more information. The man is restricted, which means that he is only allowed to have contact with his lawyer.
