An accident occurred between a truck and a freight train on the Scheldelaan towards Zandvliet on Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported, but the fire brigade had to be called out to clear the road.
The accident happened in the early morning. A train crossing the road was hit by a truck. The red signals worked, but the driver of the truck continued driving. The collision caused fluids to leak onto the roadway. The fire brigade arrived on site and cleared the road.
The accident causes limited local traffic disruption. Scheldelaan is blocked, the police alternately allow traffic to pass through the available part of the road.
