The fans of football club FC Zurich were not in the Philips Stadium on Thursday evening during the match against PSV. After the riots earlier that evening in the center of Eindhoven, they decided to go home.

PSV played a match against FC Zurich at nine o’clock on Thursday evening in the Stadium in Eindhoven. Supporters of that club gathered around four o’clock in the afternoon on the Market, where they went on a rampage. The unrest is said to have arisen after one of the supporters was arrested by the police.
Video images quickly circulated on social media showing chairs flying through the air and tables being thrown at the riot police. The Heuvel covered shopping center closed, the riot police removed bicycles and the catering industry on the Market closed its doors. The riot police closed off the access roads to the Market and eventually locked in the hooligans.
Rioters escorted to stadium
The group that caused the unrest was escorted to the stadium by the police just before the match. According to a 112 correspondent, there was a riot when they passed the favorite pub of the PSV supporters, but the police managed to keep the groups apart. After that, the Swiss fans went home.
