The makers of the theater spectacle ‘Veenbrand’ are attempting to perform their play next year in the Veenpark near Barger-Compascuum.
Producer Sjoerd Nutma announced this. Initially, the Rensenpark in Emmen was the dream playing location. Things were different due to the corona pandemic. An attempt to play the piece in 2022 also failed.
In order to actually stage the performance in the Veenpark, Nutma is looking for new sponsors and partners. The most important part of the cast is known: Janke Dekker, Alfred van den Heuvel, Marlon Henry, David van den Tempel and Robin van den Heuvel.
Veenbrand was written by Dick van den Heuvel and partly inspired by the history of Drenthe. For that reason too, the Veenpark seems suitable as a playground. According to director Andres Fictoor, the site ‘offers the opportunity to create a beautiful total experience’.
